Description
A Carnival staple, Pignolata Bianca e Nera, along with Pignolata al Miele, is a traditional pignolata. Widespread in Sicily and Calabria, primarily in the cities and provinces of Reggio Calabria and Messina, and listed among the Traditional Italian Agri-Food Products for the Sicily region, it is often simply identified as Pignolata di Messina.
The white part of the pignolata is lemon-flavored, while the black part is chocolate-flavored.
