Traditional and Regional Sweets

Discover the authentic Calabrian confectionery tradition with our selection of regional sweets, handcrafted by Pasticceria Taverna since 1945. Each creation embodies the flavors and traditions of Calabria, offering a unique tasting experience.

Among our specialties are the Pitte Pie, also known as Petrali, Easter sweets filled with a delicate mixture of figs, walnuts, and dark chocolate, wrapped in a fragrant shortcrust pastry and covered with very fine lemon fondant sugar or chocolate. The Susumelle are oval honey-based biscuits, enriched with spices, raisins, and candied fruit, then covered with white or dark chocolate, a symbol of Christmas in Calabria. We also offer the Pignolata al Miele, a traditional sweet made of fried dough balls dipped in honey, and the Pignolata Bianca e Nera, widespread in Sicily and Calabria, often identified as Pignolata di Messina. Each sweet is prepared with selected ingredients and according to recipes handed down through generations, bringing the excellence of Calabrian pastry to your table.
